Accessibility statement

Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across noasplace.org.uk.

Colour, type, and component rules follow our design system (docs/design-system.md/ docs/02-DESIGN-SYSTEM.md). Brand yellow and teal are never used as body or link text on white.

What we do to support access

• Skip-to-content link and a consistent “Contact” entry in the header on every page
• Visible focus indicators and scroll offset so sticky headers do not hide focused controls
• Touch targets sized for easier tapping (minimum 24×24px; primary controls larger)
• prefers-reduced-motion respected sitewide for non-essential animation
• Founder story video does not autoplay with sound — you choose when to play
• Form errors use icon + text (not colour alone) and are announced to assistive technology
• Interactive tools are designed to be completable with a keyboard; no drag-only flows

Known limitations

We are actively improving. Current known limitations include:

• Some older pages and third-party embeds (for example donation or newsletter widgets) may not yet meet the same standard as our native pages. We are migrating them.
• PDF policy documents and some downloadable resources may have uneven structure or tagging. Contact us if you need an accessible alternative format.
• Automated axe checks cover key routes in CI; a full manual keyboard and screen-reader pass is part of our release practice and may still catch issues automation misses.
